Casual Cape’n

The cape blazer is such a trendy style and often worn dressy. I love the idea of the cape blazer and think it looks just as amazingly trendsetting worn casually!

My first time wearing a cape blazer I chose to pair it with the dingiest yet trendiest pair of jeans I own to give the cape a casual edgy feel! I kept it clean cut, though, with a fitted turtleneck, sleek hairstyle & choker necklace. The shoes, well, they gave the look life!

Overall, this is how I play with styles. I usually mix clean cut wit edgy and rugged but I experiment with so many other as well like, baby doll and rocker or tomboy and chic. In my experiments I found that mixing opposite styles actually work to give each piece balance and the overall look sass and trendsetting power! This is my main secret to styling.

Mixing to match unconventional styles for a trendsetting look.

In other words, I pair styles and items not normally worn together but in a way that isn’t outrageous and compliments one another. It’s all trial and error and what goes on in your dressing room at home is all trial for the final style you choose to wear outside.

So now it’s your turn, what pieces do you have in your wardrobe that you can pair for an unconventional look? A look that isn’t so trendy but rather takes the trend in a different direction?
