My Fringed Blackout

I’ve blogged about fringe quite a bit the last two years and it’s still going strong. More and more I see it’s sophistication and fall for this style endlessly!

From the tanks I cut to have a fringe bottom for a Coachella look, to the fringed-arm top a designer friend of mine created for nightlife adventures, I couldn’t wait to style myself in something for fall!

I feel this same way about velvet, longing for a few days of chilly weather in LA just to bust out this luscious and very sexy texture!

With my love for both, I decided to pair my velvet leggings from American Apparel with my fringed-arm top from Missguided for an all black evening look. I attended a movie premiere, where I manned the red carpet for PR and Event Entertainment Firm, The Brand Group LApinkgrasshopper-fringe-fashion-bloggerOUTFIT DETAILS // Faux fur scarf: Foreign Exchange, Fringed-arm bodysuit: Missguided, Velvet leggings: American Apparel, Gold-leafed booties: Bdonnas, faux leather quilted shoulder purse: Ross

As a fashionista, I not only wanted to be sure I was styled fashionably but also wanted to be sure to keep to my trendsetting ways somehow (and effortlessly), seeing as though I was working and there was media with cameras everywhere. In this case, I thought immediately of centering my look around a staple piece and going from there.

pinkgrasshopper-fringe-fashion-bloggerGiven the nature of top, sleeves with long fringe hanging from the arms, I chose this statement piece, especially because I’d only wear it at night for a few hours, so use of my hands and arms was kept at a minimum. Whereas during the day while running errands I’m at risk of getting caught or stuck on things.

I went from there to pair with the velvet leggings because it was finally cold enough to do so and I had been waiting for the perfect fall weather to grace LA! I also like that the leggings, being high-waisted, gives shape the top and my body, allowing for a seamless and to-the-point all black look!

The booties solidifies the look for fall and the touch of gold gives it the right amount of subtle umph! pinkgrasshopper-fringe-fashion-blogger

The night of the premier was also the night the Mike Brown verdict was determined. I saw it fitting to wear all black in solidarity for this nationwide union and powerful cry for justice. Although I did not participate in the actual protests on the streets (because of my interests to remain non-violent and safe) I do appreciate and stand with those who seek justice for Mike Brown, Eric Garner and the mass number of underserved, underprivileged, and unprotected human beings who are slighted by a government that promises equality for all. As a fashion blogger and a human who understands the dynamics of what’s going on in America, I wore all black on that day to solidify my stance and mark the beginning of my choice to use my influence and voice to help educate and serve against inequality.

What styles are you most interested in rocking especially for fall? And most importantly, what ways do you suggest I use my influence and voice, keeping in line with my job as a fashion blogger, to help educate, serve and provide resources for the underserved, underprivileged, and unprotected who relate to me?
