Grunge, dirty-deviancy meets high end fashion chic. We couldn’t get enough of the cutting edge pieces we saw at the Gita Salem Fashion Week Event Saturday Night on the lively street of Melrose Ave!
Upon entering the Gita Salem venue, you automatically get a feeling of “not so typical” high end fashion design boutique. This place screamed ‘Rock Star Status’ and we couldn’t get enough! Gita Salem, often known for his designs for megastar Prince and more names such as Madonna, Britney Spears, Carmen Electra and Chris Brown, was a delightful host and put on an entertaining show.
His stage designs and costumes have made its way to common street style and attracted an array of people from all backgrounds. His designs speak to those who aren’t afraid to get a little edgy with their fashion and daily looks.
Take a look at some of the Rock Stars we captured photos of while waiting for showtime!
This dynamic duo posed for a photo right before the start of the show!
We found @Ixchelsandivel quietly giving us high end grunge!
Our friend, Dean, was eluded to attend this event as a guest of the photographer. (Loving his denim on denim look)
Gita didn’t steal the spotlight for too long, he invited emerging LA guest designers such as CLADE by Maya Reynolds, Opus Prime, GlassMagPie and LaceByTanaya to accompany him as they showcased their latest designs! This wasn’t your typical fashion expo where the models flaunted designs on a traditional runway–guests were emerged right in the middle of a live photoshoot as models masked out select designs posing at three different sets capturing amazing shots!!
This night of fashion was filled with exciting new designs and looks. Want to be a rock star? Well you have to start by looking like one! We’ve got you covered, below you will find information on all the designers feature at the Gita Salem show!
Thank you Gita Salem for the invite and showing us a great time!!
