Now, we here at PinkGrasshopper. are versatile. We are able and more than happy to saunter around, sipping champagne uptown, as well as grubbing on the beloved taco trucks available ’round the way. This versatility makes us privy to the trends of both ends, especially when the trend of one end, miraculously finds itself being donned by the other.
Case in point: the gold rope chain. We have long seen these gilded ropes as a staple of rap culture, but as of recent, they are making their way onto the couture horizon via some of our favorite leading ladies. Let’s take a look at some examples!

It’s very interesting how the chains have transformed from a neck adornment, to an option for outerwear trim, or in Bey’s case, a graphic print. I have always loved these, even in their days of being viewed as lower echelon accessories, so I’m personally excited for them to be glinting in different lights. Between this, and the resurgence of cornrows and Timberlands, don’t be surprised if we see Swarovski-encrusted versions of the Chinese slippers of Nail Shop Solicitors past pop up sometime soon!
